All are professional 18 hole courses and worth playing. For the beach lover in all of us then there are several Blue Flag beaches within a few minutes drive also with the likes of La Zenia beach and Campoamor beach or just splash about in the communal pool. All in all what better place to spend your much deserved holiday away from home. The AreaThe local area of mainly British residents is residential, so there are no high-rise hotels to cloud the clear blue skies, like much of this part of Spain, is currently being developed albeit not next to our Calle (Street). Our villa is a pleasant 10-minute walk by the golf course to Villamartin Plaza (which comes alive at night) , and has a good selection of shops, restaurants, bars and a well-stocked supermarket. A little closer by are 3 local bar /restaurants. The clear warm sea of the Med is an easy 10 min drive down the hill where you will find some lovely beaches and pleasant walks as well as other restaurants and bars. A little further a field (20 mins) is the market town of Torrevieja, which is a medium sized town with many shops, bars, restaurants, nightclubs and a good market where many bargains can be bought. This place is great for water sports and the international marina with the capacity for 1500 boats is always busy and it is great to sit with a cold beer and watch life go by!BEACHES Within a short drive of the house, the beaches are plentiful and vary from vast expanses of sand to small pebble coves. Many of the safe white sandy beaches are proud to display the prestigious Blue Flag, which is awarded by the EU for cleanliness and safety. The beaches along the coastline close to Villamartin are La Flamenca, La Zenia, Cabo Roig, and Campoamor. La Zenia is the closest to the house,onlyafewminutesdrive.Calla Captaen is next to La Zenia and is a very safe beach to swim or snorkel. . You can take a boat ride to the island of Tabarca where scuba diving is a pleasure, or sail along the coast. Fishing trips and boat rides are available from the port of Torrevieja. During the day you can enjoy the sea and sun along the magnificent beaches, while at night time you can enjoy a meal in one of the many excellent restaurants along the seafront. Regardless of your choice of beach you will not be disappointed. Things to doThe Costa Blanca is one of the healthist places to live in Southern Europe with 320 days of sunshine a year and a year round average temperature of 20 degrees. There are miles and mile of blue flag beaches within a short drive.Murcia city and Alicante are both within 40 minutes drive away and offer a multitude of museums, shops, cafes and restaurants. Just a bit further up the coast is the cosmopolitan resort of Benidorm with its theme parks and great nightlife.Villamartin Plaza is a lively centre for your holiday, its full of restaurants bars and shops with plenty to keep you occupied with a lively nightlife.
