If choosing to venture out from your villa or apartment in Villamartin, then make a visit to either Alicante or Cartagena, both are only a 50 minute drive away. You can visit the old area of the cities called the "Bario" and see how life was, as well their battle grounds and castles. Both places are great historical cities to visit. Public transport in the area is fantastic so if you do not have a car you can take the bus to both cities.
